Nortel Institute for Telecommunications of the University of Toronto

The Nortel Institute for Telecommunications was designed as an inter-disciplinary, inter-faculty research institute based in The Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. NIT provides global university-based leadership in the field of emerging communications technology and focuses on the key areas of Research and Development, Education and Training, Strategic Analysis, and Information Exchange. The Institute was established in 1997 through contributions from Nortel Networks, the University of Toronto, and the Government of Ontario.
