NIT Day Fields Institute University of Toronto July 13, 2001 Over 90 researchers and graduate students involved with the Nortel Institute met on NIT Day to learn more about the Institute and each other. Given our interdisciplinary mandate, researchers associated with NIT are located across the University community, and this was a special opportunity for all of us to get to know one another better. The schedule included welcoming by the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, Tas Venetsanopoulos, an overview of the NIT by Director Peter Smith, and introductory talks by each of the NIT Research Thrust leaders.
