Frank Tooley was the founder and Chief Technical Officer of Terahertz Photonics Ltd from 1998-2003. He was a faculty member of Heriot-Watt University from 1984-2000, a member of the Technical Staff of AT&T Bell Labs., from 1989 to 1991 and from 1995 till 1998, he was the Nortel/NSERC Chair in Photonic Systems in McGill University, Canada. He is a senior member of the IEEE and was chairman of the IEEE committee on Optical Interconnects 1995-99, an editor for Applied Optics since 1994 and was program & general chair of the OSA meetings on Optics in Computing 1999 & 2001. He has published over 200 papers and research articles in the areas of optical interconnects.
